This is truly sad - I am originally from Belgium. The police is scared to patrol (even in daylight) in parts of Brussels. 30 years ago, I would take the bus to Antwerp and spend a day shopping. 10 years ago I visited the daughter of a friend, she is the only white person in the street. I would be scared to go to Antwerp alone now, or even with a husband.
